3 Main topics

Icarian Games, Whips/Whips-Pops and Standing Acrobatics during the whole program with a heavier focus on one of the disciplines each week.

PROGRAM

During each week of the program 50% of the main Workshops will be dedicated to the "Main Topic" of the week and 25% to each of the two other acro topics.

Week 1 main focus on Icarian Games: 6-12 of September
Week 2 main focus on Standing Acro: 13-19 of September
Week 3 main focus on Whips/Whips-pops: 20-26 of September

Icarian Games

Detailed Program

- The basics: cleaning up your tempos/straight throws with the proper technique and discovering new variations will allow you to get your maximum height and accuracy. Challenging Icarians will become much easier afterwards.

- Linking pops: one of the most exciting practices while training icarian that requires precision and focus. Learn how to link the pops you know, not only the easy ones.

− Big Throws: as a base you will use your whole body to throw and catch pops where the flyer will learn to rotate in all directions. Fun and adrenaline are guaranteed here. Expect tricks at the level of “Cast Away”, “Martini”, “Front Saltos” “Pirouette” and so on.

− Icarian Foot Juggling: one of the most challenging practices, especially for bases, where you mostly use the power and ability of your legs. “180º & 360º pops”, “Varial Flip” or “Icarian Back Whip” are some of these tricks.

− Combining Standing Acro with Icarian: you will be surprised by some of the creations from these teachers where they combine both partner acrobatics disciplines. People with different levels of experience in standing acro will find it equally exciting.

Standing Acro

Detailed Program

- Hand to Hand / Foot to hand: accompany us in this learning process going from the basics, where you will refine your technique and learn an infinite amount of small details that make big differences, towards plenty of challenging entrances, dismounts, patsheska, one arms and dynamic tricks.

- Non Hand to Hand: There are a whole bunch of fun tricks to explore and learn in standing acrobatics that don’t require you to have a steady handstand. So if H2H is not your unique interest or it’s not there yet this topic is definitely going to give a new perspective on what's posible up there.

- Banquine and Toss the Flyer: probably the most exciting techniques in partner acrobatics when playing in trios and groups. After getting good fundations you will discover that these techniques allow you to throw your flyer higher and farther than with any other discipline. Adrenaline and fun are guaranteed.

- Acrodance / Partnering: elegance, fluidity and synchrony while moving with your partner and executing plenty of tricks and lifts that will make the audience “Wouu” and enrich the whole practice of partner acrobatics.

- And much more: Basing and flying with the head, new entrances to Two High and Three High, Pitching and so much more!

Prerequisites

Standing Acro Week

30 seconds Handstand against the wall.
20 seconds Tuck Sit in L-basing.
20 seconds Foot to Hand in L-basing.
Solid Two High.
Comfortable with counterbalances and Flags.
Recommended some experience in standing Foot to Hand and Hand to Hand.

Whips and Whipops

Detailed Program

- Whips:
• Basics: setting the basics and fundamentals of momentum-driven moves.
• Progressive approach: step by step progressions from basic (Tarzan Whip) to advanced Whips in a gradual and fun way. You will learn all sorts of variations and how to adapt them to your practice.
• Intermediate and Advanced Whips: from the basic front dive to any back and side whips.
• Whips centered spotting techniques: also known as the most technical spotting ever. You will come out of this as ninja spotters.
-  Whips-Popsh:
• Basic and fundamentals: you will learn how to pop your Whips in order to change position or even plane.
• All-levels Whip-pops will be covered and each move will be broken down and studied step by step with an analytical approach.
• You will learn to Whip-pop to any final position through flyers’ movements which can consist of translations, rotations, spinning, twisting and a combination of them.
- Whicarians:
• Precision: we will work on the precision of the basic Icarian throws in order to ensure a landing position that allows you to fuse your Icarian tricks with any Whip you like.
• Transitions: you will learn how to transition from Icarian to Whips or even Whip-pops and you’ll see how exciting these combinations are. Whicarian is the last frontier in the L-basing world. A bunch of new and fun tricks are waiting for you.

Prerequisites

Whips and Whipops Week

Tarzán, diving from Bird in between the legs and coming back.
Stable with all the basic Acroyoga positions.
Comfortable with washing machines and flows.
